If you've managed to void your warranty and mess with some of the internal stuff of the PS2, there are some things that could cause this problem. right click on the ff8 shortcut or exe and click "run as administrator"... disc 4, in your case) inside the PS2 and load the file which should now say Disc 4 on it, and you should be OK. I had the same problem with you all. I tried changing the compatibility to the setup.exe and also to the thing that opens up the installation window but that didn't work either. Thanks to everyone who helped to find this solution - i hope i works for whoever wants to play! It's owning a spare pare of ekys in case you loose them.

anyone know why or how to get it working. When I start New Game, it says "Insert Disc 1" then I did what that guy said and go to Regedit.
