The system was on a separate drive attached to the internal fast SCSI-2 bus, while my drives for video capture via firewire were attached to the Adaptec card. I will attempt that test, hopefully there won't be big files to download as I'm on dialup! The weird thing is it sometimes happens in different places along the timeline.
